Yesterday, MEDIAFLUX brought us the news of the year, about the world’s billionaires invited by Elon Musk, their conjunctural boss today, to spend Halloween at Bran Castle. Even in Bosnia, where I have been for a few days, the taxi driver asked me last night why Musk chose to film in Romania, he thought that if he came with Angelina Jolie on his arm, it would be about a new American film, I explained that it was a party with the world’s billionaires in Dracula’s castle, the man was speechless, collected his money and left.
The Romanian Instagram has been full since yesterday with pictures in which influencers are disguised as vampires, with long and sharp fangs, but in short skirts or only in panties, and their partners are grinning ferociously in shots dressed as Count Dracula, I understand that the clubs in Bucharest organized dozens of vampire parties last night, of course the clubbing super-mobilization was generated by the arrival of the big stars. MEDIAFLUX has yet to find Musk, but they did film PayPal billionaire Peter Thiel with his (dada!) billionaire husband Matt Danzeisen as they boarded the helicopter that transported them to Bran. These two, plus a few more of the billionaires who arrived in Romania, have been business partners with Musk for about 20 years, they are the leaders of the post-Bill Gates generation of tycoons, the ones who now control our communication in the virtual space, the work known with the satellites over Ukraine, monitoring the Russians, being just part of their big global communications business. They can’t even have a good time alone, so the party sauce was enhanced with many Hollywood stars who, before the well-watered or “dusted” party last night in the hotel rooms, ate Romanian food at a stable in Poiana Brasov. It is clear that starting today, billions of people on the planet learn from the communication of these stars not only where Romania is on the map, but also that our country is a “must-be-there”, through the prism of the fact that it would be the “Vampire” center of world, the Irishman Bram Stoker should be remembered for this, who described us as such in his famous novel 125 years ago, although he never visited Transylvania.
The party is somewhat natural for the eccentric billionaires of the world, but it is surely part of a personal marketing plan by which Elon Musk manages his public appearances. And the significance of this trip to Transylvania will be all the more analyzed since it takes place two days after he took over Twitter with a bidet sink in his arms, and former Russian President Medvedev publicly congratulated him (with a response included from Musk!), generating the most publicized political news of the moment. Elon Musk has not only made satellites available for free to Ukraine, with the recent decision to extend the freebie, he has been involved in the conflict for the past month by publicly promoting peace plans that have been accused of being similar to Putin’s, and – that’s how he annoyed and upset the world elite. Since yesterday, Musk has “dismounted” in Bran, in the NATO country closest to the epicenter of the Ukrainian war, and it is clear that he wanted to indirectly communicate that he is also close to the decisions, even if he disguises his appearance in Halloween costume and under the line of ”Trick or Treat?!”
In conclusion, what is happening at Bran Castle now is not just a maxi-marketing event, with influences and consequences including of a cultural nature for us and the post-communist east of Europe, it is clear that it is much more and we will deduce this more precisely only when we will see to whom the “trick-or-treat” of Musk, released from Romania, is addressed.
