What are the facts from which I begin this analysis? The ones which were reported in real time, likely subjectively, by both Ukrainian and Russian channels. Because, just like three years ago, at the start of the Ukrainian war, in Romania and the West, the obedient media chooses to stay silent, irresponsibly so, given that we Romanians and Europeans would be the first targets if the war expands. I reported what I could last night, in real time—ironically, using American sources, since I don’t speak Russian or Ukrainian.
As of now, here’s how things look: the operation, nicknamed “Spider’s Web”, was personally led by the head of Ukraine’s Secret Service, Vasyl Maliuk. According to reports, over 40 Russian aircraft were damaged in the attack, including A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22M3 planes. The Ukrainian Secret Service claims that the attack caused the Russian military around $2 billion in damage. They also claim that the SpiderWeb drone operation on June 1st caused $7 billion in additional losses, and disabled 34% of Russia’s cruise missile carriers stationed at key airbases.
On the Russian side, there’s been more silence than noise, but beware: the Speaker of the Russian State Duma made a chilling statement, saying that in response, Russia will not only destroy the German Taurus missiles used in the attack but also the places from which they came—namely, targets in Germany.
From the United States, General Mike Flynn, former national security advisor to Donald Trump, stated last night that Zelensky acted without informing Trump, and that this risks breaking operational US–Ukraine ties and even endangering the U.S. itself. Flynn further argued that the destroyed Russian military facilities were supposed to remain visible, in line with nuclear treaties, and that “Zelensky irresponsibly and recklessly exploited this, perhaps unknowingly.” Flynn warned that this kind of behavior could be replicated—even against America. His conclusion? The Ukrainian strike wasn’t an act of courage, but a reckless stupidity—one that won’t just lead to severe Russian retaliation, but also puts global peace at extreme risk.
Now, here’s my brief take on the real situation, as I see it: Zelensky was instructed by the warmongering EU leaders to go play with matches in a fuel depot. Why? Because the EU has been excluded not only from peace negotiations but also from managing Ukraine’s reconstruction, a multi-trillion dollar prize. That prize is now to be handled exclusively by the Russia–USA–China triangle, and rightfully so: the victorious Russia, its Chinese ally, and the American facilitator.
But as you already know, Ukraine’s reconstruction contract was awarded as far back as November 2023 to BlackRock, the massive investment firm controlled by the world’s wealthiest family, the Rothschilds. This family, via its investment fund Franklin Templeton, has held Ukraine’s sovereign debt since 2017, as we’ve often reported on Gold FM. It’s also well known that the same family inspired the reckless actions of Victoria Nuland, the American operative who’s overseen Ukraine for the past 15 years.
None of these players can conceive of missing out on the spoils of a war they helped ignite, organize, and execute. So now, through their political puppets—Macron, Merz, and the likes—they keep the war flames alive, and they encourage irresponsible actions like yesterday’s, as a way of saying: “If we’re not included in the grand prize distribution, we’ll burn the planet down.” And that’s exactly what could happen.
Last night, Putin held back from launching a full-scale retaliatory strike. He’s still a geopolitical chess player, after all. But that doesn’t mean he won’t strike back, and devastatingly so. Now he has all the justification he needs. Russia was attacked deep inside its own territory, and crucially, in locations housing nuclear facilities. If we analyze the Duma Speaker’s statement, it’s clear that European capitals providing weapons, support, and guidance to Ukraine—Berlin, Paris, perhaps even London—are now in the crosshairs. As you’ve heard from me before, Russia possesses devastating missiles that can hit these capitals undetected in just 9 to 12 minutes.
Zelensky has achieved nothing but offering his country up for complete destruction, turning its people into live targets. And since yesterday, he has also put Europe directly in the line of fire, as we can now clearly speak of an expanded conflict between Russia and the EU. Putin understands well that if you want to eliminate the consequences, you must eliminate the causes. And those causes are no longer Ukrainian, they are now visibly and functionally represented by countries led by puppet leaders like Macron and Merz.
