Pax Americana is a concept by which geopoliticians describe the period of US dominance over the world, beginning immediately after World War II, lasting nearly eight decades. Until 1991, the year of the disintegration of the USSR, the term was contested especially in the communist countries, but one of the opponents of its use in diplomatic rhetoric was the visionary J.F.Kennedy (JFK), the former American president who paid with his life including because of this opposition which spoils the accounts of the “war hawks” of those times. During his tenure, feeling that the US was not yet ready for the military confrontation with the Communists, provoked by the Vietnam War, Kennedy said: ”And this is the most important subject on earth: peace. What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of peace are we looking for? Not a Pax Americana imposed on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the safety of the slave. I’m talking about real peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, and the kind that allows people and nations to grow, hope, and build a better life for their children—not just peace for Americans, but peace for all men and women, not just peace in our time, but peace for all time.”
I recalled this text now because it correctly summarizes a humanist strategy that has not been applied by any American president since Kennedy, who prefer to implement what I call the “geopolitics of disorder”, based on the imposition of military force and the initiation of wars to alter the cohesion between America and the rest of the world.
After decades of political-economic glory, but also against the backdrop of the geopolitical rise of China and Russia, both supported by American miscalculation over the past decades, the US has reached in the last 10 years the moment of reckoning before the inevitable decline. Trump, benefiting from the assistance of a few wise men who also supported him in taking power, tried an arrangement of America’s situation, an internal consolidation aimed at a later rebirth, but which ruins all the greedy calculations of multinational corporations. They thus supported the fraud of the 2020 elections and the imposition of a political puppet leadership, where someone like Joe Biden has been enthroned for two years, thus becoming the very mascot of the American decay process.
The agenda of the Moscow meeting between Putin and Xi is already known, and even before the events of Monday and Tuesday, it can be concluded that Russia and China will undoubtedly mark the end of Pax Americana. The Western moves of the last few days, such as the drone provocation in the Black Sea or the arrest warrant for Putin issued by the International Criminal Court, are miscalculated again, likely to increase the significance of the Putin-Xi meeting only in favor of the Moscow-Beijing axis. The thing with the spy drone could only be interesting if it would have revealed to us some horrors committed by the Russians, possibly the sabotage of some grain vessels, otherwise the action ordered by the Americans on Romanian territory appears like a lamentable third world war action. The arrest warrant in Putin’s name would have been an effective geopolitical ploy only if it had resulted in the cancellation of Xi’s visit, otherwise it is worthless and will further discredit the International Criminal Court, whose decisions are effectively invalidated. officially by the Americans themselves. Against this background, it is clear that the countries of the world will understand starting next week that the balance of power of the world has tilted in favor of the Western world, led by the USA in an amateurish, even chaotic way, and from here there will be rapid regroupings in favor of the new Russian-Chinese power axis.
Americans will therefore experience the validity of the old parable that says that “He who sows wind, reaps storm!”, but this will not benefit anyone. The political-intellectual level of those who lead the USA and the Western world today is low, doubled by a corresponding desperation, so it is predictable that the geopolitical nonsense implemented by Washington will multiply and lead to the inflaming of war, with tragic consequences, difficult to be suspected today by anyone. Empires die hard, but they involve humanitarian catastrophes in the process, and the fall of the American Empire will be no exception to this rule.
